Le Penchant, Calmel & Joseph 2022

A beautifully expressive organic Roussanne, The Penchant 2022 pours a pale yellow with bright green highlights. On the nose, layers of apricot, white peach, and pineapple unfold, lifted by floral notes, a touch of anise, and a whisper of white pepper. The palate is full and elegantly structured, offering juicy vine peach, green apple, rose petal, and exotic fruit, with a refreshingly minty and subtly spiced finish.

The wine’s freshness and poise come from its unique continental terroir—clay-sandy-silty-limestone hillsides in the Pays d’Oc—which impart both volume and tension. Aged for six months in concrete, it’s vivid and fruit-forward now, with potential to evolve gracefully in bottle.

Farming: Certified Organic
Winemaking: Hand-harvested in the cool of morning, gently pressed, and fermented at 16°C to preserve fruit purity.
Maturation: Aged in concrete tanks for 6 months.

Fresh, floral, and vibrant with Mediterranean soul and a continental coolness. Elegant structure, lively tannins, and a clean, aromatic finish of mint and liquorice.
