Crafted in the heart of Haute-Savoie, Reblochon is a celebrated washed-rind mountain cheese steeped in centuries of heritage. Made from full-cream, unpasteurised cow’s milk, this semi-soft cheese boasts a velvety rind ranging from golden yellow to soft orange, encasing a creamy, supple centre.
Its name comes from the 13th-century practice of “reblocher” – or “re-milking” – when savvy herdsmen would hold back the richest milk to avoid taxes, then return for a second, creamier yield. This secret stash became the foundation of one of France’s most beloved cheeses.
Matured for a minimum of two weeks, Reblochon develops a delicate, edible crust and a smooth ivory paste. The flavour is gentle and fruity on the nose, unfolding into a rich, nutty depth with a hint of the Alpine cellar.
