Calmel & Joseph Les Sept Puits Saint-Chinian is a strikingly characterful red from one of the Languedoc’s most compelling terroirs. Sourced from north-west facing clay-limestone slopes dotted with seven natural wells, this wine reflects both place and precision, blending Mediterranean power with freshness and restraint.

In the glass, it shows a deep, intense red. Aromas unfold gradually — first smoky and gently spiced, then moving into darker, more earthy notes of truffle, peat and forest floor. The palate is structured yet vibrant, with black cherry, blackberry and plum at the core, lifted by a chalky minerality and framed by fine, velvety tannins. The finish is long, savoury and warmly spiced, leaving a lasting impression of balance and depth.

A beautifully composed Saint-Chinian with a strong sense of identity and excellent ageing potential, ideal for hearty dishes or slow, contemplative drinking.
