Light, delicate, and beautifully crumbly, these classic Savoiardi biscuits are a staple of Italian patisserie. Originating from the region of Savoy in the 15th century, they were created in honour of a royal visit from the French king. Known as "ladyfingers" in English or biscuit à la cuillère in French, their airy, spongy texture makes them ideal for soaking in coffee, liqueur, or fruit syrups.

Traditionally used in tiramisù, these biscuits also feature in Neapolitan Carnival treats where they’re dipped in rich chocolate or black pudding.
